Gareth Cliff was seen all smile as he went into court for his hearing after M-Net fired him for his remarks on the "Penny Saga" in which he retaliated with a lawsuit of R25m and reinstatement.
I'm not so sure about the money part of it but the reinstatement part is what we know had the mighty Cliff showing off his dental formula as he walked into court.
The court ordered M-Net to give Gareth his seat for the 12th edition of the SA Idols' judging panel. I don't know about you guys but I'm quite satisfied with the verdict. In my opinion it would've been very unfair to remove Gareth and keep Somizi when Somizi's remarks were a 10 compared to that of Gareth.
Laugh on brother Gareth laugh on.....

New Generation, Meet Khanyi Dhlomo.
Ever wondered who was the "it" girl before Bonang?
Meet Khanyi Dhlomo
Today known as a mogul in the South African media and fashion spheres, Khanyi Dhlomo was only 16 when she discovered she had an interest in media after winning the Thandi Face Cover Girl competition. She studied journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand and in 1995 became the first black newscaster for SABC and that is when the whole country fell in love with her. She then left her very secure job at the SABC to become a fashion and beauty assistant at True Love magazine. Her risky move turned out to be a rather smart and bold one in terms of her success. At 22 she was appointed as the editor of the publication and within a year of her promotion she doubled the circulation from 70K to 140K.

She then founded her own media Company known as Ndalo Media which publishes Destiny and Destiny Man. After all was up and well she opened a first of its kind in Africa luxury department store called Luminance in Hyde Park.
In 2013 she was in the papers for a loan of R34.1m she received from the NEF, it was huge issue of how the NEF could fund a luxury venture and Khanyi was also accused of using her political connections to secure the loan. However what was hardly mentioned in the papers was that she paid back the loan in 1 year after she was given up to 5 years to pay it back(cava the shade mara).

Hilarious!! watch Cassper Nyovest campaign for votes.
Who knew Cassper had a sense of humor. This guy just wont stop suprising us. People it is awards season and the metros are coming up. I'm sure you've seen on social media artists posting posters asking for your votes. Some artists even went as far as promising fans dinner dates and twitter shout outs. As always, Cassper Nyovest decided to do things differently from the rest. He filmed himself hilariously begging for your votes. The video features his best friend Carpo, who is also hilarious. I don't about y'all but he's definitely getting my votes. Give it a watch I promise you gonna want to vote for him afterwards.

Aint nothing like a yellow WCW
Presenter, actress, model and radio DJ extraodinaire Pearl Thusi is this week's WCW.
She's been around the block quite some time now as she started presenting on a kids' show on SABC 3 and moved on to bigger things when she played Samkelisiwe Nkambule on SABC 1's Zone 14. She has appeared on multiple other shows like Isidingo and Rhythm City and modeled for giant names like Edgars, Vodacom and Toyota just to name a few.
She was the MC and campaign ambassador for the Castle Lite Feel The Beat of Sub Zero Experience which feature international mega star Kanye West. In 2012 she was one of the four personalities that were considered for the spot to co-host the Tropika Island of Treasure with DJ fresh but she lost out to former Miss SA Nicole Flint. She now co-hosts the SABC 1 friday night groove show Live Amp alongside DJ Waras and Lootlove Sosha.
She's not just pretty she's also brains, she has completed a start-up venture course at the WITS Business School while completing a BA Communication Science through UNISA and is also the co-owner of Ayana Modeling Agency.
Like any other celebrity in South Africa she has had her fair share of the so called "Twar". This was when she questioned Beyonce's dress at the Met Gala and the BeyHive came out stings blazing(they're dangerous those ones). She has recently been suspended from her radio show on SABC's Metro FM for constantly mocking colleague Bonang Matheba(the power of the queen again).
She has also been in the news for being left dry and out by her bhut'bae Robert Marawa who allegedly has a roving eye. Because Pearl is a beauty(that's why she is our WCW) she's probably always on somebody's wish list and this was proven last week when new kid on the block Emtee dropped a video to his song titled "Pearl Thusi" in which he puts in a request to be her ben 10 and last time we checked the video had over 60K views.

Top 5 latest Hip Hop Videos
Let's take a look at the latest hip hop music videos this month, but first just send a quick shout out to our local artists and all the hard they've been putting in. So, things are very interesting in the hip hp scene right with new videos dropping and the Metros coming up. The competition is also becoming tighter everyday with new artists showing up. We take a look at 5 new hip hop videos and say why they deserve to be on our top 5 spot.
#5 Dj DImplez - Clean in This B
This black and white themed video dropped in December last year. its currently sitting on 22 289 views on youtube and we just thought it was dope. Didn't receive a Video of the year nomination but it was still a cool video.
#4 Cassper Nyovest Le mpitse
At number 4 we have Le Mpitse by Cassper and Riky Rick. Also black and white themed but much more interesting in terms of mood and setting. There's this whole gangster vibe going on which we found pretty cool. This one is sitting on 245 389 views o youtube and still counting. Well done gents.
#3 Emtee - Roll up Remix
Sitting at number 3 is the one and only Emtee with Roll up remix featuring Wizkid and AKA. I think first of all those are the two people that made the video dope and i think they are the reason it has about 457 000 views on youtube. However emtee has been working really hard and he deserves all the credit.
#2 Nasty C - Juice Back Remix
I don't know if you guys saw our post last week on this video, but anyways its one of the hottest videos right now shout out to Nasty C for this creative masterpiece. It dropped last week and its already sitting on 68 950 views on youtube. If you haven't seen it I suggest you check it out on youtube I promise you gonna love it.
#1 Emtee - Pearl Thusi
This is the most talked about video on social media right now and its no surprise. When it dropped on Live Amp last week Wednesday Facebook and twitter went crazy. In this song Emtee is praising his "crush" Pearl Thusi and telling the world how beautiful she i and how he wishes she was his sugar momma. Its headed for 60 000 views on youtube and it was only uploaded 3 days ago. Crazy!!
Tell us what you think.

The Power of the Queen B
Wondering why Bonang is on everybody's lips once again?
No its not another ferbing saga or anything of that sort its probably because of how powerful she is.
Bonang Matheba is SA's it girl who does a bit of everything in the entertainment industry and is also mostly known for her fashionable self(and maybe also because of the AKA and Zintle saga)
Well Bonang became a different sort of hero today after South Africans were touched by a story shared by a woman on her Metro FM show.
The show has a segment called #AskAMan where blazing questions from listeners are directed at her two male co-hosts. Today a woman shared a sad story of how her man left her for her friend while they are preparing for their son's burial. The woman shared that her man and the friend have been shagging for 2 years and now the friend is pregnant, the man is alleged to have said he spent the money for the burial with the friend.
The show starting trending on twitter with listeners sharing their sympathies and some lashing out to the man and the friend.
Apparently Ubuntu is still around though as one of the branch managers from Avbob has offered to see through the whole funeral.
So there Queen B saves the day(that's a sad story by the way)
Okmalumkoolkat Arrested for Sexual harassment
It seems the cat couldn’t keep his paws to himself. Rapper
Okmalumkoolkat has reportedly been arrested for sexual assault. I know you probably
think it’s nothing cause a lot of local artists have escaped such accusations,
but guess what? This all went down in Australia and the person he assaulted
wasn’t just some groupie trying to score a quick buck.
According to the reports Koolkat was out with
his buddies after a show last week. He then decided to enter the woman’s room
and began kissing her in a very inappropriate way. The lady then kicked him
out. The reports further claim that koolkat was arrested on the 16th
of January and only pleaded guilty on Thursday. His team Stamp Communication
have not said anything about the Reports.

SABC 1's Good Old Times
Lerato Mvelase |
Brenda Ngxoli |
The best retaliation for SABC 1 would be to bring back that show, find and keep their actors and up their quality as well.
They were bragging about having their first billion in the bank last year. Well how about investing in some great television-maybe?

Jessica Nkosi takes first...WCW
Jessica Nkosi first appeared on our screens as a devious Qondisile who lived in the Zungu household and was sort of jealous of the household's eldest daughter Thandeka(played by Nomzamo Mbatha)in the soapie/telenovela drama Isibaya.
Today she still plays the character but has evolved to a short lived powerful queen to a tool used by Bhekifa to get back at the Zungus.
We've also seen her play the successful and of course beautiful Eve on Ayeye.
Jessica was a law student at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal but dropped out to pursue a drama after failing Criminal Law in the second year.
Thank God she failed that law or else we would have been deprived of such beauty on our screens. Because this is SA papers gotta' sell she was once in the tabloids for allegedly being at war with Nomzam Mbatha over the 2012 Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa. And because Jessica has got goals she did not entertain that mediocrity and called lies and the matter was laid to rest.
Rumour has it that she will be new South African face of Clinique and apparently already have begun shooting for the campaign #MustBeNice.

Fire who???.....Not Gareth
SA idols season 12 is off to a rough start after fired judge Gareth Cliff hits back with a R25 million lawsuit.
Gareth Cliff has sued the show after he was fired for taking part in the Penny Sparrow saga by merely suggesting that she had the right to exercise her freedom of speech. However Gareth did not in any way justify Penny's action all he said was "People don't just don't understand freedom of speech, at all".
Now let's go back to December 2015 when a war broke out between Somizi Mhlongo and Mark Pilgrim. Mhlongo is a choreographer who was added as a judge on the 11th edition of the show. Pilgrim is a radio and tv personality who used to host Big Brother and the Top 40 SA chart on KFM and Highveld Stereo.
Somizi clearly called out that the white people who participated in the Zuma Must Fall campaign were just white supremacists who were hoping for the return of apartheid or a white president. He went on to give ridiculous examples of what are the chances of that happening like Mercy Phakele on a duet with Adele and Oscar participating in the olympics.
If you ask me if someone has to go under the gun let's take a look under that ridiculous wig(the one he wore on the finale night).

Nasty C drops Juice Back remix video
The long awaited video for the juice back remix has
finally dropped and it’s lit! Literally!
Its nothing like all the other videos with hot girls and
dope cars. The opening scene of the vid shows Nasty holding a lighter and a few
seconds later setting da place alight.
“The concept of the whole music video is Mad Max meets
Run This Town by Rihanna, Jay Z and Kanye West. Going for that dark feel as you
can see everybody dressed up in like black, navy, all those dark colours.
Basically we going for a grammy feel” the rapper explains on his behind the
scenes video with MTV base.
The 18-year-old rapper just keeps getting better, and im
very sure that he is about to take over the hip hop industry. He’s young, he’s
fresh and he’s got bars for days. Check out the video on youtube :

The Beauty and The Beast....Oooh and the Axe too.
We all know that show on Mondays, the one that brings sport highlights. Yeah I'm talking about the former MTN/Coca Cola Soccerzone which is now Sports at 10. It was once hosted by Robert Marawa until he switched to pay TV's SuperSport channel.
I don't know whether the broadcasters are at war over presenters or what but SABC later snatched the then SuperSport presenter Thomas Mlambo to host the Sports @ 10 show. Apparently this was a move to increase the number of viewers of the show and that's why they also brought on board the beautiful Minnie Dlamini to co-host the show.
Well looks like the plan backfired then. The SABC announced that they are letting both Thomas and Minnie go after they have failed to increase the show's fan base. Insiders say the show has been losing viewers since Marawa left and the adding of Thomas and Minnie brought little to zero change.

Cassper Nyovest and Anati drop a hot single featuring Nasty C
Have you guys heard it thou? We think its really dope. The beat, the chorus, and all 3 verses are nothing but fire. I don't about y'all but I think Anati is the dopest producer right now. The guy can really cook up a track, we'll post the instrumental soon so y'all can hear the fire im talking about. In the meantime press play and enjoy the track.
Oh and here is the Song art:
Emtee VS Nasty C
2014 may have been a
great year for SA hip hop, but 2015 was a blessing. This came after two, very
young and talented rappers blew up early in 2015 and its no secret that they’ve
taken over the game. One goes by the name Emtee and the other known as Nasty C.
Now, im sure a lot of you have a favorite between the two. Whether its Emtee da
hustla or the Juice Back hitmaker Nasty C, it doesn’t matter because these two
are both on fire.
I don’t know if it’s a
coincidence or a planned move but do you guys notice how nasty c is more into
Cassper and Emtee into AKA? These two young rappers both had hits in 2015, Roll
Up and Juice Back right? Nasty C did a remix of his song featuring Cassper Nyovest and Davido, and then Emtee
did a remix of his featuring AKA and Wizkid. Isn’t it crazy how they both used Nigerian
stars and two of the biggest rivals on their remixes?
Skhanda God is pissed at the Metro FM Awards
This comes after receiving zero nominations at the Metro Fm awards. The rapper believes his two singles #ONETIME and #SkhandaLove deserve a few nominations. This is not the 1st time the rapper's been left disappointed. Last year he was also pissed at the MTV Africa Music Awards organizers for not giving him enough time to rehearse for his performance. Artists who seem to be winning are Cassper Nyovest, Nathi Mankayi, and Riky Rick. K.o took to instagram to express his feelings.
Congratulations to all those nominated at the Metros this year!!! My album came out late 2014 yet it spawned singles that made a resounding impact in 2015 #SkhandaLove #OneTime I owe the success of those singles to all the media channels who made them as big as they became including #MetroFM 😌. Thank u to the fans as well for the support! We submitted the songs to be considered but sadly didn't make the Metros nominations list. Being overlooked at these award ceremonies (s/o SAMA☺️) has been the story and fuel behind my solo journey. I feed off of that. Soldiers don't bitch about the scars picked up on the battlefield, they simply soldier on! F*ck a flash wound, there's a war to win! New album out 2016! Love always #SkhandaGawd
Award Season
Award season has begun as we've seen the Golden Globes wrapping up for 2016 and the Oscar nomination ruffling a few feathers(or maybe weaves) as there are no black actors in their nominees.
Well that's their problem, we've got our own Penny Sparrow to deal with and our own award season to see through.
Kicking off our 2016 award season is the 15th Annual Metro FM Awards.
The nominees were announced on Thursday 14 2016. Leading the pack this year is the Nomvula hit maker Nathi and the disc jockey duo Spectacular and Naves.
Let's slaughter a few of the categories and who I think should win.
Best African Pop Album:
Nathi - Buyelekhaya
Zahara - Country Girl
Zonke - Work of Heart
Maleh- You Make My Heart Go
Kabomo - Sekusile
This category is interesting. Firstly I didn't know Kabomo and Maleh had albums and I thought Zonke's album is too fresh to be nominated. Either way all 3 should forget about this one because its between Zahara and Nathi and I hope Nathi wins.
Best Female Album:
Maleh - Feels So Good
Zonke - Reach It
Zahara - Country Girl
Thiwe - Soul Therapy
Fifi Cooper - 20Fifi
This category has some good vocalists going head to head and my gut tells me Zahara is having this one while I'm secretly hoping Fifi Cooper snatches it(I'm just a fan)
Best RnB Single:
Zonke - Reach It
Nathi - Nomvula
Maleh - Feels So Good
CiCi - Runaway
Vincent Bones - My Lady
And again Zonke, Nathi and Maleh are battling it out in the same category with 2 new comers to go against,CiCi and the 2014 SA Idols winner Vincent Bones. Just because she came with a different sound and nobody sounds like her at the moment I'd like CiCi to take this one, imagine bringing a legendary dying stable back to life. That deserves a nod.
Best Urban Gospel Album:
Ntokozo Mbambo -
Andile Ka Majola -
Malusj Mbomazi - Ngisize Nkosi
Ayanda Ntazi - Udumo
Worship House - True Worship 2015
Don't really listen to gospel so whoever wins this one "Praise God", quoting Rebecca Malope
Best Hit Single:
Aka - baddest
L-Tido - Dlala Ka Yona
Kwesta - Nomayini
Witness The Funk - Nomusa
Shekhinah - Back to the beach
So far this is the toughest category coz each and every one of these songs made waves everywhere. Imma' show a little favourism here because Witness The Funk is one of the best things that ever happened to me in 2015 so let's not discuss it they should just win.
Best New Artist:
Nathi
Emtee
Riky Rick
Prince Kaybee
Fifi Cooper
Another interesting category. Nathi deserves this one because he's been the talk of town for a whole year. I didn't know they still considered Ricky Rick a new artist but anyway I don't think Boss Zonke is enough to carry him through this one and once again Fifi representing for the ladies as she's the only female in the category. Just give it to Nathi.
Best Hip Hop Album:
Cassper Nyovest - Refiloe
Riky Rick - Refiloe
Emtee - Avery
Fifi Cooper - 20FIFI
Zakwe - Impande
This category makes me happy not because AKA is not nominated, I would be happy even if he was and Cassper wasn't. It makes me because not having them going head to head means there won't be a playground school girl fight on twitter. And for what its worth I think Cassper deserves it.
Best Male Album:
Nathi - Buyelekhaya
Black Coffee - Pieces of Me
Cassper Nyovest - Refiloe
Prince Kaybee - Better Days
Riky Rick - Family Values
Everyone else in this category should just sit down already coz the winner is amongst the first three names. Black Coffee has and still is doing the most in music both nationally and internationally for that reason I feel he deserves this one and big ups for making it to Coachella.
African Category:
Burma Boy
Ojuelwgba
Partoranking - Woman my everything
The Marvins - Dorobucci
Reekado Banks - Katapot
This category excites me the most. We have finally included our fellow africans but its a quite dangerous category. Patoranking, Burna Boy and the Mavins are all very much loved in SA but we know who the boss is. The Mavins of course.
Song Of The Year:
Black Cofeee - We Dance Again
Nathi - Nomvula
Sphectacula & DJ Naves featuring Professor - Kings Of
The Weekend Anthem
Durbanyts - Shumaya
Heavy K - Umoya
DJ Ganyani - Talk To Me
Prince Kaybee - Wajellwa
Riky Rick - Boss Zonke
Shimza - Akulalwa
Prince Kaybee - Better Days
I am also quite amped about this category, there are a lot of deserving artists. Shumaya has done some serious rounds(and still is) but We Dance Again escalated very quickly and Nomvula is a song of sentimental value to a lot of people and Heavy K is always a hit in the festive season. I seriously don't know who deserves this the most but between me and you I'm hoping Black Coffee wins
(The list of nominees is extracted from Times Live but not the comments and Predictions)

Diski Diva Dip
Mzansi Magic is back with probably one of the most successful reality
show; Diski Diva. This year things are different though as we see 4
divas from the previous season not making a comeback for seconds.
The 4 no pitch divas are namely Wendy Parker who is wife to Kaizer
Chiefs player Bernard Parker, Gigi Rantie who is married to Tokelo
Rantie who is in the national squad. Girlfriend to former pirates star
Andile Jali, Nonhle Ndala and Katlego Mohaoduba who is ex girlfriend
to former Kaizer Chiefs player also didn’t pitch for the follow up
season.
Though it’s a new season with 4 beauties off the show, there are
familiar faces like Felicia Modise who is Teko Modise’s ex wife and
Blue Mbombo who apparently was engaged to a Black Aces player.
When faces fade naturally new ones emerge (in reality TV of course).
So in the second season we are introduced to new ladies like Kgomotso
Machete who we briefly met in season 1 and is mother to Siyabonga
Sangweni’s daughter (Orlando Pirates player). In the first episode we
heard Kgomotso say “have you seen how much soccer players get paid”
after she had a meeting with an attorney regarding pap geld issues.
We also met Kia Ntshole who is the mother of Mbuyiselo Sambu’s son. I
don’t know Sambu but he apparently plays Chippa United (really
though?). Thandeka Nhleko who was married to Nkosinathi Nhleko (Kaizer
Chiefs) for 15years is here to showcase how she has picked herself
after the divorce. Then we also met Promise Zondo who the girlfriend
of Manti Moholo. We don’t much about her yet but she does not interest
me much.
For me the first episode was not interesting at all. The ladies don’t
look like they have much to show, they look like typical baller
girlfriends. My guess is they will just be fighting over stupid things
the whole season.
What would’ve been interesting would be seeing Nonhle and Gigi back to
share their new lives with viewers. By new lives I mean Nonhle being a
new mom and how she moved on from being physically attacked by Wendy
and Katlego and Gigi being a new wife. Another interesting factor
would have been the return of Wendy and Kat. Wendy to show us how her
come back to the modeling industry and maybe an apology to Nonhle. Not
that she deserves it; Nonhle has been a bitch to everyone on the show.
It would’ve also been nice to see how Kat’s hair business played out
and who she would consult for advice and stuff.
When the show fired Wendy and Kat last season they said they do not
promote the kind of behavior they displayed at the Khaya FM studios
when they attacked a defenseless pregnant Nonhle. If you ask me with
type of ladies they have this season that kind of behavior might as
well be what they are promoting. If they were promoting something else
they would have casted the likes of Bokang Montjane and Sonia Booth.
Sonia Booth is a business woman and a respected figure in the South
African fashion scene. She is married to Mathew Booth a retired soccer
legend who played for both Bafana and Sun Downs.
Bokang Montjane is former Miss South Africa (2010) and one of only two
women who have competed in 4 major pageants namely Miss world, Miss
Universe, Miss Earth and Miss international. She is now the mother of
Simphiwe Tshabalala’s son.

SA Idols Judge Gets Fired!!
A judge has been released from the SA idols judging panel.
Is it to flame to the 12th edition of the show or has someone got their fingers burnt by the flames? On Friday 8th if Jan Mzansi magic announced that former 5fm DJ and now owner of Cliff Central who joined the panel in the 2nd season of the show will no longer be the fourth judge at panel Rumor has it, it must have been the tweet he posted in which he states that "People do not understand free speech at all" during the Penny Sparrow saga(Damn you Penny) The post received a lot of attention from the show's fans with some even threatening to boycott the show M-net hasn't yet elaborated on their decision to release Mr Cliff from the show but have thanked him for his contribution to finding new talent Will there be a replace?? That's the hot question right now but the million dollar question is who will be warming Mr Cliff's seat. Whatever the producers decide I have a few suggestions of my own The most predictable choice would be the very talented singer/Composer/vocalist and also the show's Music Director, RJ Benjamin. RJ Benjamin as been working with the idols contestants for some time now and we'd think he knows exactly what sort of talent the show is looking for My other suggestion is the young, beautiful, colorful and vibrant Chiano Sky who broke into the industry in 2012 with smash hits like "Walking Away" and "Sick Sick". Reason why I'm suggesting Chiano Sky is because of the market she targets and the type of artist she represents, I think she has the skills to finally find us our first female winner since Sasha-lee Davids Lira would've been a great edition to the panel but thanks to Idols for being blind sighted, the new kid on our screens The Voice SA has already snatched the beauty. Let's not be predictable and think that they will put in a fourth judge since there were four judges. It is also possible that they are satisfied with their 3 judge panel however what would be exciting to the show would be keeping the 3 judge panel and have guest judges during auditions and "theatre week"
