5 Shows That Need To Comeback In 2016

As much as there is some good content on our screens right now there are a couple of shows that left us hanging and most definitely come back in 2016.

5. Check-Coast
This is by far the best SA produced comedy with Khanyi Mbau killing her role as the side chick Lerato who appears to be a lil' stupid and fabulously struggles with English(maybe they should also cast Puleng Mash-Spies).

4. X-Factor SA
This show needs to come back just to redeem itself, the first season was low budget mess but it deserves a second a chance and maybe this time they will get it right. A Brand new panel and a new host like Thomas Gumede should do it some good

3. 10 Over 10 Another one that needs to redeem itself. After 2 amazing seasons the third season was a let down. it by far had the driest commentators on the show's history and the categories were whack and They also need to bring back Trevor Gumbi as the co-VO

2. Take Me Out SA Before the SA version of the show I have never heard of it but now that I've seen the British version which is the original SA murdered it. This show needs to urgently come back with no changes at all especially the host, Phat Joe did some of his best work on there.

1. Rockville
This one just must comeback. This is the show that left us hanging in its 4th Season finale. We still need to find out if Lindi got shot or not, is her baby okay, how will her family take the news of her being pregnant, is the baby even Bogatsu's. I won't say more, it just needs to come back

Boredom Galore on COTCSA

The third performance episode of Clash Of The Choirs SA aired last night and it was a good waste of time. Clash Of The Choirs sees 7 SA musicians battle it out with a choir they have put together themselves. Last week the theme was SA Legends and the legend amongst the choir masters Papa Penny was sent packing after messing up PJ Powers' Jabulani and losing to Busiswa in the Clash Off. Last Night the theme was 90's Rnb and I was expecting to at least hear popular songs from artists like Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men and Brian Mcknight. Instead it was a bunch of really dry songs done the exact same way as the originals. This year the choir masters seem to lack creativity except for Ifani and Kelly Khumalo. I expected a lot from Bucie and Busiswa but it seems they lack. Bucie's choir was at the bottom the first performance episode and Busiswa's choir had the same fate last week but got to stay after beating Penny Penny's choir in the clash off. Last night both these choirs landed in the bottom 2 and clashed off a clash off that would've seen Team Bucie exit but Zwai apparently had the power to make this week an non-elimination week which he used last night and so I'm guessing all the judges enjoy the same privilege which means we have 2 more non-elimination weeks.

If you ask me so far the choirs that will be in the finale are that of Ifani, JR and Kelly Khumalo but only time will tell.

Nadia Nakai joins Family tree

Nadia, who is one of the country's best female rappers, has been a victim of mockery following her exclusion in AKA's all-female rappers Baddest Remix.
It has not been made clear why she was left out in the remix that featured Gigi Lamayne, Rouge, Nomuzi Mabena and Fifi Cooper.
She however took it upon herself and real her own Baddest Remix which was also not received well. So the mockery continued.
In a move that is seen as part of the beef between Cassper and AKA, the Mafikeng rapper has taken Nadia under his wing.
Here's what Cassper Nyovest said:
A few years ago I met a pretty girl at Ganja Beatz. She was said to be rapper and I had never interacted with a female rapper in studio before so I didn't know how to behave.
I just kept thinking about how pretty she is and I thought she just wanted to be cool. Over the years I followed her music and she went from dancehall, pop to holding her own on the "Amantobazane" and "Do Like I Do" remixes which had some of the most lyrically respected Mcs in the country.
I later on started to flirt with the idea of having her on my label and the team was very very willing. We had her in studio a couple of times to check her out and her passion for music and her willingness to learn convinced me to offer her a deal and she jumped at it immediately.
She has been struggling to keep the news from y'all, lol.
On that note, I would love to welcome the talented miss @nadianakai to @familytreeworld

Curves on Curves for WCW

Chest out and curves sharp are just a few ways to describe the gorgeous Minenhle Dlamini who is this week's WCW Minenhle showed up on our screens on the presenter search for Live which she won beating the likes of Nandi Mngoma. Before she bagged the competition Minnie was a film and media, drama and economics student at the highly regarded University of Cape Town. After she won the Live presenter search Minnie also hosted another SABC 1 show called Mzansi Insider which she left after a year to join the cast of M-net's The Wild in 2011 and stay until the end in 2013. Seemingly she developed some bond with the Fergusons as she scored herself another role in one of their productions Rockville.

In Rockville Minnie played a spoiled brat Nosipho Bogatsu who was the daughter of Jackson and Dudu Bogatsu played by Shona Ferguson and Bonnie Mbuli respectively, the character was the twin sister of Mpho Bogatsu played by Boity Thulo. Like any othe female celebrity Minnie has had her fair share of drama but let's not dubb into that but what we will talk about is one of Minnie's favourite moments. The day he met Nelson Mandela. This was after she won the Little Miss South Africa in 2002. She reckons Tat'Madiba as a hero and a grandfather of hers, though she wasn't close to him but she was very much inspire by what she read about him. If you love Minnie like we do watch her on the 5th of March as she will be co-hosting the AMVCA alongside nigeria most coveted host IK Osakioduwa.

New Beauty Trio For Mzansi

Its a new year and as expected 3 beautiful ladies are to be crowned as the most beautiful and intelligent ladies in the land. For Liesl Laurie who represented us as Miss South Africa at the 2015 Miss World pageant where she placed in the top 15 making her the continental queen and her 1st princess Refilwe Mthimunye who represented Mzansi at the Miss Universe pageant where she took the 15th spot and the 2nd princess Ntsiki Mkhize its time to give up those crowns to 3 new fresh faces. The Miss South Africa pageant is set to take place on the 19th of March and will be aired live on Mzansi Magic channel 161. Up until the finale night we will be profiling these 12 gorgeous ladies from all over Mzansi stay tuned

Minnie To Queen Africa For A Night

As we had announced before, award season is in full swing globally and Minnie has scored herself a gig to co-host the 2016 AMVCA. On the 5th of March eyes all over the continent will be on one of Mzansi's host queens. Minnie Dlamini will be hosting the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice alongside one of Africa's host with most IK Osakioduwa. Minnie will be taking the reigns from the Zimbabwean former Bigbrother Africa house mate and Africa Magic's Stargist co-host Vimbai Mutinhiri who lit the stage on fire last year with her beautiful gowns but we are not worried about that our Minnie is to be trusted in the dress up department. This is a big deal for Minnie since intercontinental hosting is becoming a thing on African television. Like Pearl Thusi and Lerato Kganyago who scored a hosting gig on the Ebony Live channel as host of the SA spin off of Moments which was originally hosted by the founder of the channel. We are sort of hoping for the same for Minnie We wish Minnie all the best of luck and we pray she breaks into the African market as she is ready for it and because her hosting job on SABC 1 has been cut

DJ, Businesswoman, Mother......Now a WCW

Ntombezinhle Jiyane mostly known as DJ is one of maybe just 2 top female DJ's in country, she's a businesswoman and mother to Composure hit maker AKA's daughter. DJ Zinhle stepped into the scene purely by luck, her brother who had taught her how to mix ran a sound equipment hiring business and Zinhle was helping out at that particular gig when the DJ ran late Zinhle decided to take matters into her own hands. Some years later Zinhle landed herself a slot on the Gauteng based youth radio station YFM where she had a mixing session of about 30 minutes and that's when she reached the ears of Kalawa Jazmee boss Oskido and that's when her DJ career escalated. Ever since she has spinned in countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Algeria, London and Miami alongside the likes of DJ Sbu, DJ Fresh, Vinny Da Vinci and Christos. Because she is passionate about the empowerment of women in the male dominated industry, in 2009 with a partners she opened doors to young females to learn about the industry at The Firm Understanding of Sound Entertainment Academy(FUSE). The very first DJ academy in SA which has had over 100 graduates since its launch and is responsible for the likes of Ms Comso and Ms Pru. DJ Zinhle sure is a woman of integrity and dignity as she maintained her composure during a saga of infidelity. Cheated on by the father of her recently born baby AKA with Bonang Matheba(allegedly). DJ Zinhle is our WCW not because she's just a beautiful woman, she's a woman with a purpose and is working hard to fulfilling that purpose. And the winner of the WCW competition is Ncedeka Hope Poswa.

Does Riky Rick want to win a Metro award?

It seems like Riky Rick is not that interested in winning the four awards he's nominated for at the Metros. All his friends are putting in all the work begging fans for votes on radio and tv interviews. Cassper Nyovest even did a video of himself literally begging fans to vote.

Boss Zonke though seems to be in his own lane. When asked by Loot Love on Live amp if he had anything to say to viewers for them to give him votes he said "no, the people should vote for whoever they feel deserves the award". What the hell is that? The dude didn't even know the the number you dial in order to vote. Pearl Thusi had to give the correct number to viewers, which is *120*602# live on air. Even on social network Riky isn't putting much effort in campaigning for votes. All he has on instagram so far are these three basketball jerseys

Does he know that each award comes with a R100k cash?
We doubt.

New Feel Of The Old Touch

T'Bo Touch is one of the most prominent radio DJ's on the South African airwaves. Otherwise known as Thabo Molefe T'bo Touch shows he's more than just an accent behind the mic. T'bo Touch's knew he had love for the entertainment industry while he was studying marketing at New York University. Opportunity arose when he was a bartender to the stars at a club called Ecstasy and later became a radio DJ at Hot 97. That's when he got a break into South African industry by hosting a radio show from abroad. Ever since T'bo Touch as been a household name with his afternoon drive show on MetroFM the Touchdown and a has had multiple tv appearances.

T'bo Touch has proved to be more than just a radio jockey in 2014 when he launched his Touch Lifestyle joint and firstly produced Touch Condoms. When asked about his choice of business, it turned out to be rather personal than commercial. T'bo apparently lost a friend to HIV/AIDS and producing condoms was a way to keep his friend's legacy alive. In 2015 T'bo and his lifestyle joint announced to be producing a line of perfumes and colognes. Its seems like T'bo's business is doing great as he went on to produce his very own wine. To close off his great year he received the Entrepreneur Of The Year nod at the ANN7 SATY awards beating out Gil Oved for the gong amongst others

Something New and Something Old On COTCSA

The show that saw Khaya Mthethwa win 2 singing competition in a space of less than a year and the KZN taking the title twice is back with the same old faces on the judging panel and new choir masters and a brand new host. The first two seasons of the show had been hosted by none other than the phenomenal Bonang Matheba and on the judging panel were gospel legend Rebecca Malope, airwaves queen Anele Mdoda and Joyous Celebration front man Lindelani Mkhize who did not return for the 3rd season and is replaced by season 1 Mpumalanga choir master Zwai Bala Another face that did not show for the 3rd season is that of the queen Bonang Matheba as she has been replaced by Lawrence Maluleka. Apparently Lawrence has been in the presenting spheres for a while but I have never seen him before until he was a very distracting Don on to Thandeka Isibaya.

If you ask me this Lawrence dude is doing a great job stepping in the shadow of Bonang. By far this is one of the most unpredictable moves by Mzansi Magic because knowing them and recycling faces I'm sure they had thought of giving the job to Lungile Radu but he had bigger fish to fry on The Voice SA. Overall well done to this Lawrence he's been doing a great job since the show started Catch Clash Of The Choirs SA on Mzansi Magic channel 161 every Sunday at 17:30

Roller Coaster Vibes On The Road

An awesome production with a never seen before format on South African and stella cast I had high hopes for this show but from time to time they lose their groove.
I so excited about this show when it came out last year, firstly because of the cast. Luthuli Dlamini,SK Khoza, Neo Ntlatleng(haven't seen this guy since he was Skhalo),Nandi Mngoma and Gail Mabalane were the main people I wanted to see. Music as a their main profession I was really excited to see Kabelo and Moneoa have a go at this acting thing and I have to say i am impressed by Kabelo and not so much about Moneoa.

The show has a different plot than any drama in SA. It is set in a present day film production studio where we indulge in the private lives of the actors, the producers and the rest of the crew. The second plot is in Sophiatown during the time of apartheid, gangsterism and the curving out of black people music showbiz and where Miriam Makeba started her music career. I have to give credit to Gail Mabalane who plays both Stella(in Sophiatown) and Kedi(in present day). The credit is for how she executes the two different characters and by different I mean DIFFERENT. Stella is a sweet and almost shy girl who wants to sing in Sophiatown but her mom won't allow it, so she sneaks. Kedi is a materialistic bitch who's not concerned about anything else but possessions.

When the show started it was exciting, the plots were exciting as well as the story lines in the plots. I think the show became a lil' too greedy too soon or just too fast. One minute we busy tryna' find Zwelakhe's killer then we are looking for the brief case the next think you know Kedi is dead, Zoe is a bitch, some girl is tryna' con Themba and Salome is wanted dead. I like it when things come to an end then we get a breather to digest everything that has happened like the way Saints and Sinners did it. It was simple nice and short and now they are back for ass kicking in season 2. The Road is becoming very inconsistent and I keep on losing interest because they drag their story lines for long. It would be cool if we found Zwelakhe's killer, deal with Kedi's death and Zoe as the killer, curb bab'Themba's con and then we can follow the Salome and Kingdom saga because I feel that has the answers to everything else that happening on the show.

Even though the show has been high then low then high again now its on very high because Salome just got shot and I assume she's dead and Zoe's conscience is getting the best of her. Check the show out on channel 161 Mzansi Magic Mondays to Thursday at
