Roller Coaster Vibes On The Road

An awesome production with a never seen before format on South African and stella cast I had high hopes for this show but from time to time they lose their groove.
I so excited about this show when it came out last year, firstly because of the cast. Luthuli Dlamini,SK Khoza, Neo Ntlatleng(haven't seen this guy since he was Skhalo),Nandi Mngoma and Gail Mabalane were the main people I wanted to see. Music as a their main profession I was really excited to see Kabelo and Moneoa have a go at this acting thing and I have to say i am impressed by Kabelo and not so much about Moneoa.

The show has a different plot than any drama in SA. It is set in a present day film production studio where we indulge in the private lives of the actors, the producers and the rest of the crew. The second plot is in Sophiatown during the time of apartheid, gangsterism and the curving out of black people music showbiz and where Miriam Makeba started her music career. I have to give credit to Gail Mabalane who plays both Stella(in Sophiatown) and Kedi(in present day). The credit is for how she executes the two different characters and by different I mean DIFFERENT. Stella is a sweet and almost shy girl who wants to sing in Sophiatown but her mom won't allow it, so she sneaks. Kedi is a materialistic bitch who's not concerned about anything else but possessions.

When the show started it was exciting, the plots were exciting as well as the story lines in the plots. I think the show became a lil' too greedy too soon or just too fast. One minute we busy tryna' find Zwelakhe's killer then we are looking for the brief case the next think you know Kedi is dead, Zoe is a bitch, some girl is tryna' con Themba and Salome is wanted dead. I like it when things come to an end then we get a breather to digest everything that has happened like the way Saints and Sinners did it. It was simple nice and short and now they are back for ass kicking in season 2. The Road is becoming very inconsistent and I keep on losing interest because they drag their story lines for long. It would be cool if we found Zwelakhe's killer, deal with Kedi's death and Zoe as the killer, curb bab'Themba's con and then we can follow the Salome and Kingdom saga because I feel that has the answers to everything else that happening on the show.

Even though the show has been high then low then high again now its on very high because Salome just got shot and I assume she's dead and Zoe's conscience is getting the best of her. Check the show out on channel 161 Mzansi Magic Mondays to Thursday at
